Details of Your Session
Terms Conditions:
- Sunday May 5 at the Classical Movement Collective Dance Studio in Rockledge (see google map below) - if you cannot find a session time that works for you, please contact us to see about accommodating your schedule
- 30 minutes of dedicated studio time with a professional Photographer, experienced in dance photography
- You may select up to 15 photographs to be edited and delivered to you; you will be provided an online "proofing" gallery of unedited photographs to review - additional photographs to be edited and delivered for additional fee (see Delivery of Photographs below)
- You must come to the session with a companion 18 years of age or older (family member, friend, etc.); your session may not take place if you come alone; if you cannot bring someone, you may contact us ahead of time to see if we, or the dance studio, can accommodate
- White "infinity" background (background and floor); can create shades of grey on background by adjusting lighting; a black background may also be available depending on available space
- High speed lighting for catching motion (we love movement and flow!); lighting changes are not possible in the limited time of each session - for a diversity of lighting, a longer and more customized session must be scheduled
- Real-time review of photographs on back of camera or on computer/TV screen to adjust posing
- If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time to keep other clients on schedule; if schedules run late for other reasons, we will do our best to ensure you have your fully booked time
- By booking a session you agree to a model release for the Photographer (& Comstock Photography); you are the person scheduled to be photographed and are at least 18 years of age, or you are the parent/guardian of the person scheduled to be photographed; Comstock Photography may use photographs for portfolio and other purposes such as on its website and social media, markets, and other publications
- We request photo credit to Comstock Photography (Facebook) and comstockphoto (Instagram) if posting your portraits and behind-the-scenes photos to social media
Things to think about on the day of your session:
- SAFETY FIRST - keep vigilant of fatigue and potential injury
- Know your limits
- Be aware of when you need a break and don't hesitate to let your photographer know; we will do our best to be aware of this and will ask if you need a break
- Do not push yourself beyond your capabilities during this photography session; work within your practiced/proven limits, and come back for another session when you have perfected new moves/techniques
- You may be on our Harlequin Marley dance flooring (we bring our own dance floors); with this flooring you will probably have the slip/grip you are used to having in a dance studio
- You may be on "sprung" subfloor, which provide additional shock absorption
- You may be on hard surfaces (non "sprung"), which do not provide for shock absorption
- You may be on loose surface like fabric, which may not provide you with the typical stability of dance flooring
- We will move at your pace
- Just remember that this is your session, have fun and know that we are working with you to capture the best images
- You may bring: posing ideas/photos (Google, Instagram, etc.), unlimited wardrobe changes, props, posing help (friends, parents, instructors)
- Chris, your photographer, is here to work with you on posing ideas; he is not experienced as a dancer, but he has years of experience working with dancers as a photographer
- Know that some poses are just that... poses; you get into the pose and hold it until the flash fires
- Know that you can move through your pose and your photographer will capture the moment you want; know that you can move, flow, or jump through it, and that it's ok to fall to the floor... talk with your photographer about what you want, demonstrate ahead of the actual snapping of the shutter, and know it is up to you how many times you want to attempt the pose in order to get the shot
- Typically, the best portraits are when all your arms and legs are visible (none hiding behind your body) and when arms and legs are not pointing toward or away from the camera (this can make them disproportional to the rest of your body)
- Be aware of your facial expressions... be intentional in the moment...will you be smiling or have a serious look? Will you have your eyes closed? Will you be looking at the camera, or off to the side of the camera?
- Be prepared to start your session at the scheduled time, and please be patient if schedules run late
- You and your companions may use smartphones/cameras for behind-the-scenes photos, but NO FLASH; please tag Comstock Photography if you post to social media
Can't make the available times? Want to do a duo, trio?
If you do not see a time slot that works for you, or you want to work with another dancer, please contact us or the dance studio to discuss options. Additional time slots may be considered. You may also book multiple time slots if you want more time. Duos, trios, etc. can be scheduled within the scheduled time slot(s) for an additional fee.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled session time. Refunds will be provided (minus any transaction fees). If you arrive late we will do our best to squeeze you in, but please understand we must honor other clients' scheduled sessions; no refunds for being late or for no-shows.
Special Offer for On-Location!
When you booked an individual in-studio session, you are eligible for a $100 session credit or a complimentary 16"x20" professional print (your choice) for an "on-location" (street, beach, outdoors, etc.) dance or family session if booked anytime through May 31, 2026 (actual session may be scheduled beyond this date).
